November 25, 2009 - BIXS ‘soft launch’ a success with producers

The feedback from beef producers from Ontario and across all western provinces during the BIXS (Beef InfoXchange System) ‘soft launch’ cow-calf test proved very constructive.

The BIXS team took responses from this test and incorporated the feedback into the final touches on the web portal’s design and functionality. Once complete, the CCA and BIXS team will need another group of voluntary cattle producers to test the latest version and provide further suggestions and feedback.

It’s expected that the next test phase could run over a four to six week time period. Once complete, the second round of feedback will further fine-tune the BIXS web portal prior to the full launch across Canada. The main goal of the second test is to ensure the web portal can accommodate both high-speed and dial-up Internet users, and determine if further development of a dial-up solution is necessary. As such, the next test phase requires producers on high-speed and dial-up connections with a wide range of web experience, from occasional users to the experienced.
