The Canadian Beef Breeds Council is the foundational partner in the CCA Beef InfoXchange System (BIXS) responsible for the genetic component of the beef value chain. The designated CBBC /BIXS system builds on the existing national infrastructure and encourages information exchange between all sectors of the industry. The CBBC component will enhance the beef value chain and facilitate genetic improvement with the link to genetic, genomic, and branded beef program information.
CBBC supports and promotes the Canadian purebred beef cattle industry and represents the sector on issues of common interest. CBBC helps individuals and organizations throughout Canada and around the world to access Canadian purebred beef cattle genetics and related services. Members include national breed associations that collectively represent almost 10,000 producers of purebred beef breeding stock. Associate CBBC members are exporters and sector service providers.
This innovative and valuable information-sharing opportunity is accomplished through the participation of CBBC’s breed association members, purebred producers and industry.
